Killing Lincoln

I'm halfway through the new book Killing Lincoln by Bill O'reily, it's a book that at first I wasn't going to even give a second chance. For some reason I picked it up and started to read it and before I know it I was on chapter 13 cripes. I was expecting a boring history style book with a bunch of facts and such, but it's not like that at all. The authors spend a lot of time showing us the human side of the people that where involved in the civil war both their faults and strengths. If you get a chance pick up a copy you may find it a good read.

Power Outage

Wow 4 1/2 days without power what a week most of Blissfield was out of power from Monday to Friday some were still out after that. We ended up losing almost all of our food here at the restaurant so it was a scamble to get everything back in and ready to open back up for business when the power finally came back. The puzzle contest ends on the 28th of Feb and we still haven't had the big winner yet I would sure hate to see someone miss out on it. The new items on the menu are the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast that is suprizing a lot of people that try it. The Eggs are green and they taste great.

Jams are back they are available to purchase again. New on the menu is six different chinese dishes, General Tso's chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Almond Chicken, Cashew Nut Chicken, Chicken Stir Fry, and Orange Chicken. They are going over very well, and they start at 6.99.

What a burger yes that is what some people say when they hear about this burger made with peanut butter jalapenos, bacon, and american cheese, it's qute the combo but it works well

We have now made a batch of rhubarb jam becauce we have had people asking for it.

New Sandwiches

As always trying to stay ahead of the curve we have added a few new sandwiches to the menu line up. Starting with our Memphus Burger made with coleslaw and BBQ pork, and our Smokehouse burger with apple wood bacon BBQ pork and american cheese. The sandwiches that are surprizingly taking off are the fish Taco and the shrimp taco wraps now these are worth a second look. And of course we have added a few more but you will have to come in to see the rest.

Wow this cold snap was a disapointment tease us with nice weather early on then dump the cold back on us. Thats Michigan expect the unexpected when it comes to the weather. Hopefully no one has lost and plantings with the frost at night.

Easter Coloring contest

Gave out our first Easter Basket prize last night to Livia a cute little two year old. She seemed to be quite taken with it. Her coloring won in the 2 to 4 year old group. We still have 2 more groups to award yet.

We are now selling our Sweet Breads at the Adrian Mall. They are located at the first kiosk as you enter the Main Door of the Mall. The second location will make it easier for our Adrian customers to pick up their favorite bread without driving all the way to Blissfield.

Chicken Livers

Chicken Livers seem to strike a lot of peoples fancies. Not a lot of places carry them,and some that do don't do justice by them as far as their cooking methods. We use a seasoned breading and only coat them once so the flavor of the liver comes out and we use a raw unbreaded product. There is already breaded and frozen livers out there but the quality is quite a bit different. I think the prebreaded kind tend to be dry tasting and a little tuff. Anyways if your in the area stop by and try our chicken livers.

Snow last night

There is nothing like being outside at night when it's not to cold and it's snowing. You get the beauty of the newly fallen snow and the quietness of it all. The new blanket of snow seems to deaden the noise for a while making a you realise that mother nature can really make a good difference in your life once in a while.
Tonight is friday fish fry we are gearing up for it here.
